Previously, he worked in responsible positions in India and overseas with multinationals like Price Waterhouse, Ernst & Young, Schlumberger and Citibank before moving into the entrepreneurship domain by joining the core owners-management team of shareholder-directors at IIS Infotech Ltd, a software services start-up, where he was the he Executive Director (Finance) on the Board of the company. Over a period of six years, the team value-managed the company through a series of strategic initiatives which included a MBO, private equity infusion, inverting of the holding structure, merger with a listing company, demerger of the IT education business, establishing joint ventures in India and a subsidiary in the USA. Apart from his dominant role in the strategic initiatives, he also had a key role in establishing processes and procedures, which provided scalability to the business model, and in managing the board and the investors. IIS was listed on OTCEI and then was delisted 2 years later through an open offer and was sold to FI Group Plc (now Steria-Xansa), a UK based software services group After exiting, he founded VentureAhead.com, an entrepreneur support and coaching portal, an enabling marketplace for ventures in need of strategic capital and partners. He is also the founder of VentureFeedback.com, an online surveys and tests portal that enables small businesses and others to conduct market and HR surveys and tests conveniently and economically. Born in Delhi, he did his schooling from St. Columba’s school after which he studied at Shri Ram College of Commerce and obtained the Bachelor of Commerce (Hon’s.) degree from Delhi University. After graduating, he articled with Price Waterhouse and qualified to become a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Simultaneously, he graduated from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (United Kingdom) to become a Chartered Management Accountant. He enjoys reading, movies, music, cricket and spending time with family and friends. His reading interests include Indian history, applied psychology and fiction in addition to books on thinking & life skills, strategy, finance and management.
